About Jack Franks

Career highlights past and present

A native of Marengo, IL, Jack Franks has worked and studied all around the world. He attended high school in Brazil and remains fluent in Portuguese. While earning his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he completed a year of study at the London School of Economics. Jack Franks has also studied in Jerusalem and Beijing, and he has worked as an international attorney based in Washington, DC.

Despite having spent significant time abroad, Jack Franks has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to his Illinois community. A partner at the McHenry County, IL, law firm Franks Gerkin Ponitz & Greeley, he focuses on helping his clients right wrongs inflicted on them in cases involving civil litigation, personal injury, real estate law, and other matters. As a politician, Mr. Franks has similarly fought for his constituents, first as a state legislator and then as a county board chairman. Along with cutting local property taxes and reducing corruption in state government, he worked to spur trade in Illinois by making official visits to Ireland, Turkey, and Cuba.

Jack Franks further gives back to his community through his leadership of a group consisting of eight local community banks. In his free time, he enjoys following Chicago sports teams, particularly the Bulls, Bears, and White Sox. An avid fisherman, he takes annual fishing trips to Canada and regularly travels internationally.
